She may not be 40 quite yet, but Kate Hudson is already planning quite the birthday — and let’s just say that some big-time celebrating will be involved.

“At this point, I just want to tell everybody, ‘Hey, I’m gonna have a party,’ and then everybody shows up,” Kate said about the plans on the April 4 episode of Good Morning America.

While the 39-year-old is busy with her baby girl, Rani Rose, she still is all about having a good time once her birthday rolls around. “I personally, with having a baby, feel like I deserve a really good hangover,” she joked. “I’ve been so good, I’ve been so busy. I’ve been breastfeeding like crazy and I just want some martinis. I want to sleep in. [That’d be] really nice.”

Aside from her 6-month-old daughter — who she shares with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa — the Almost Famous star is also mother to Ryder, 15, and Bing, 7. In the same interview, she explained how being a mom to two boys is now “starting to feel different.”

“Seeing the boys with her … I feel like I tear up every day,” Kate revealed. “To see [Ryder] with his sister and to be a real helper and for me to be able to walk away and go, ‘Hey, honey, can you just take the baby?’ And I turn around and I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh.’“

Goldie Hawn‘s daughter added: “I’ve been having babies a long time, let’s put it that way. But it’s good. Everyone’s so happy and I feel, right now … even though it’s chaotic, the energy is calm and loving and peaceful right now and I’m just in a great place.” And if you were wondering if Kate’s children consider her a “cool mom,” the Oscar-nominated actress certainly hopes so.

“I think when they want something, I’m definitely the cool mom,” the Fabletics cofounder kidded. “I was so young when I had Ryder … it’s a different relationship than I think I even have with Bing. We’ve almost grown up together — good or bad, whatever that is gonna end up reflecting as in the future — but I think I’m cool until I start singing too much and then I’m not cool.”

Kate even shared a funny story that proved how much her song covers aren’t allowed in the household. “My 7-year-old … the other day, I was singing, and slowly but surely I saw the dial on the volume on the television go to 50,” she recalled. “He just drowned me out with the television!”

Well, we still hope Kate has quite the birthday!
