Katie Holmes’ Daughter Suri May Be 13, But She ‘Still Loves’ Opening Presents on Christmas Day
Christmas is just around the corner, and Hollywood stars like Katie Holmes are already gearing up for the holidays. An insider close to the Batman Begins actress recently revealed Katie’s upcoming Christmas plans with daughter Suri Cruise and dished why the mature teenager is still a little girl at heart.
“She’s 13, very stylish and into fashion,” the source exclusively shared with Closer Weekly. “Suri is getting older, but she still loves opening gifts on Christmas Day — sweaters, socks, books and a lot of gift certificates so that she can buy what she likes.”
According to the insider, the doting mom, 40, and her sweet mini-me are looking forward to some well-deserved downtime with their closest loved ones. The duo will likely spend Christmas Day in Ohio with Katie’s parents, brother, sisters and the rest of the family.
Considering the Dawson’s Creek alum — who shares her little girl with ex-husband Tom Cruise — has a very strong bond with Suri, we bet the mother-daughter duo can’t wait to spend some quality time together. “Suri’s Christmas with her family is going to be a lot of fun, but like most teenagers, she’ll be texting and face-timing her friends and looking forward to getting back home to spend time with them,” the source added. “Suri really is a regular kid, Katie has done a wonderful job.”
Since this is Katie’s first Christmas as a single lady in over six years, fans wondered how the brunette beauty would hold up during the holidays. Although she was heartbroken at the time she and longtime boyfriend Jamie Foxx officially called it quits in August, the source told Closer that Katie’s holding up just fine.
“Of course she misses having a partner by her side, Jamie was a lot of fun, but she and Suri are doing just fine,” the insider insisted. “Their bond is stronger than ever and they’re excited about spending the holidays together with Suri’s cousins and grandparents.”
Despite fans hoping the two would potentially make amends, the source reiterated the former couple’s romance was over for good. “Katie and Jamie have uncoupled and moved on,” the insider explained. “There’s no need to worry about Katie having a lonely Christmas, being single again has only made her a stronger individual.”
