Jennifer Aniston and her estranged mother, Nancy Dow, are making amends.
“Nancy and Justin actually get on better than Nancy and Jen do and that’s been key to these early steps at a proper reconciliation,” a source revealed to the entertainment news outlet.

“The problem with these two is no matter how hard they try, Nancy always goes back into ‘mom’ mode and starts ordering Jen around and criticizing her. When Justin’s there Nancy doesn’t do it. It’s the only reason why Jen’s been able to set aside their differences and she’ll only spend time with her if Justin’s there," the insider added.
Jen and her mother — who was married to the Cake star's father, John Aniston, 82, from 1965 to 1980 — were previously estranged for nine years starting in the mid-1990s because Nancy wrote a tell-all book, From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir, about their relationship without her daughter's permission.

The two allegedly briefly reconciled in 2005 when Jennifer and her ex-husband Brad Pitt were going through a divorce. Though the two are now on good terms again, the source added, "[Jen] can’t handle one-on-one [time] with her mom now. Not now, not ever.”
