She guest-starred on shows like Miami Vice, Murphy Brown, and Law & Order early in her career, but Julia Roberts plays her first regular series role on Amazon’s upcoming drama Homecoming. “I didn’t think of it as the small screen,” she exclusively told Closer Weekly in the magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands now. “My TV is very big.”

She and husband Danny Moder “have three young children, so I’m very careful about turning the TV on,” she said. “By the time we do, I’m usually ready to go to sleep.” Julia and cinematographer Danny “have collaborated seven times,” she noted with a laugh. “I love working with him. I don’t know how it is for him — you’d have to ask him!”

Julia and Danny have been happily married for more than 10 years and while they’ve heard all sorts of gossip about their marriage, Julia doesn’t let it affect her and just laughs it off. “Rumors used to annoy her,” Julia’s friend previously told Closer, “but she’s immune to them now. She just jokes and says, ‘Looks like I’m divorcing Danny for the 46th time,’ keeping quiet and letting her marriage status do the talking.”

Though she’s a Hollywood icon, Julia’s husband and three kids will always come first. “She’s at a point where she doesn’t need the money and awards aren’t important,” the friend shared. “Next to her family, acting is her passion and she knows she can just take things that interest her, challenge her, and that she loves.”

Julia’s friend also revealed that the star’s marriage with Danny has never been better. “He supports her a great deal. And when he’s working on a project, she’s the doting wife, praising him to everyone and visiting him on set with home-baked goodies.”
