Joy Behar Reveals She Was Not Asked to Reprise Her Role in Upcoming 6th ‘Ice Age’ Movie

There’s a new Ice Age movie in the works, but unfortunately, Joy Behar revealed that she has not been asked back to reprise her role of Eunice.

The confession came during an episode of The View in which John Leguizamo teased the upcoming sixth installment of the animated franchise.

“It’s so funny. We already started recording. We’re halfway done. It’s gonna be even more hilarious than the last one. We’re all back. And Joy’s gotta come back,” the Green Veil actor said during his appearance on the talk show on March 21.

“They didn’t ask me,” Joy said, to which John, 64, said, “You’re too busy.”

“Oh, is that it?” Joy, 82, asked, which caused everyone to laugh.

“Because you sound like you have a lot of time,” cohost Sara Haines said while pointing to John with a smile.

“My voice is changing though,” he said about the voiceover role, adding, “23 years ago my voice was high-pitched.” He then demonstrated how the character sounds in the present day.

“It was fun playing your mother even though we were sloths,” Joy said.

John asked her if her voiceover was inspired by his famous Sid voice and she said no. “Why not, Joy?” the actor asked, to which Joy responded, “ I don’t even know if I could do it.”

All of her cohosts and John encouraged her to try talking like Sid. She took a crack at it, making everyone laugh in the process and decided to close out the segment by talking in that voice.

Joy played the character Eunice in 2012’s Ice Age: Continental Drift, the mother of John’s character, Sid the Sloth. A photo of their characters flashed on the screen during the segment, with Joy telling everyone to “guess” which sloth she portrayed in the scene. John walked up to the screen and pointed out the sloth with red hair on her head, a nod to Joy’s real-life hairdo.

John hugged the screen and said, “Mom,” which earned laughs from the audience and the hosts at the table. “It’s got your red hair; I love it,’ John said while returning to the desk.

Though Joy has not been asked back for Ice Age, she is keeping busy with her role on The View and working on her plays. In February, the Baby Boom actress celebrated the opening night of her off-Broadway play, My First Ex-Husband.

Sara, 47, and Joy’s cohosts Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, Sherri Shepherd, Ana Navarro and former cohost Star Jones were all in attendance at the premiere.

The official synopsis of the play, per Playbill, said, “A no-holds-barred series of stories created by the legendary Joy Behar.
