Josh Brolin's Kids: Meet the Actor's Blended Family and Children

Josh Brolin may portray a superhero in the hit Avengers movies, but in real life, he’s a superdad to his four kids, Trevor, Eden, Westlyn and Chapel. The Deadpool star is so proud as he watches his children grow up before his very eyes.

Josh became a father with his first wife, Alice Adair. The former couple — who tied the knot in 1988 — welcomed their eldest child, Trevor, that same year. The pair’s second child, daughter Eden, arrived six years later in 1994 before they called it quits in 1996.

The Sicario star moved on with his second wife, Diane Lane. Josh walked down the aisle with the Unfaithful actress in 2004, but the pair held off from having any kiddos together. Ultimately, the lovebirds divorced in 2013.

The doting dad gave love another shot when he met his third wife, Kathryn Boyd. The SAG Award winner and the professional model exchanged vows in 2016 and less than two years later, they welcomed their daughter, Westlyn. The couple then expanded their family with the arrival of their daughter, Chapel, in December 2020.

Josh might be busy with Hollywood gigs, but nothing is more important than his role as a dad. At the time the Goonies alum and his wife revealed their pregnancy in July 2020, Josh and Kathryn were over the moon about their little bundle of joy.

“The Brolin’s are a growin’!!” the proud mama gushed alongside a photo with her hubby and Westlyn. “Our little December babe is on the way.”

Following the good news of Josh’s fourth child, his dad, James Brolin, dished how happy he was for the blended brood. The Life in Pieces actor said he and wife Barbra Streisand were “jumping” for joy when Josh and Kathryn told them about their new grandbaby.

“First, they told us very early on and said, ‘Don’t tell anybody,’ and I think that’s because [Kathryn] wanted to have her sonograms back and be sure of everything,” James gushed to Closer in August 2020. “And then, when they found out it was another girl and [they] told us, we just were jumping up and down.”

James, who couldn’t be more in love with his “darling” granddaughter Westlyn, insisted he’s so excited about having another tot running around the house. “You get another one like this one, there couldn’t be anything better!” he added.

Trevor Brolin

Josh’s eldest kiddo came along when son Trevor was born on June 26, 1988. Like his famous father, Trevor pursued a Hollywood career when he got older and has done a fabulous job following in his dad’s successful footsteps.

Trevor is best known for his roles in 2008’s X, 2011’s All Kids Count and 2011’s Felt. Aside from acting, the hunk is a director, writer, cinematographer and producer.

Recently, James revealed his eldest grandson pursued a new career as an electrician. The Marcus Welby, M.D. star told Closer that Trevor now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In May 2021, Josh shared a rare photo posing with Trevor and Eden on Instagram. “My girl and my boy (@edenbrolin & @funtonofun) who jump-started my heart almost 33 years ago and has kept me real, kept me true and has shown me what a diamond asset humility is. I love you both so much,” the actor captioned the post.

Eden Brolin

Josh and his first wife, Alice, welcomed their second child on November 30, 1994. The brunette beauty has since become successful in her own right as an actress and singer.

According to IMDb, Eden is most famous for her role as Charlie Singer in the Beyond TV series and as Mia in the hit TV series Yellowstone.

The I Dream Too Much actress has also appeared in other shows and films, including 2020’s Arkansas, 2019’s Blood Bound, 2016’s Emerald City and many more.

Westlyn Reign Brolin

The No Country for Old Men actor’s youngest daughter came along when she was born on November 4, 2018. Although Westlyn is still a baby, she’s already stolen the hearts of her dad, Grandpa James and especially step-Grandma Barbra.

“These are not [Barbra’s] blood grandchildren and she is just mush,” James sweetly told Closer. “She’s just mush around them! She just turns to melted putty the minute … they talk on the phone. [Josh and Kathryn] send videos every other day of what [Westlyn] is doing. So we’re all very close.”

For the youngster’s birthday in 2021, Josh posted a touching tribute to his daughter on Instagram. “We are lucky to know you, little girl: Trevor, Eden, the littler one and Mama galore — we love you like a fiery sunset, like the fish that comes to peek at the surface of the water then dives deep into the reveal of an explosively colorful sea that you understand better than any of us,” he wrote. “Papa loves you. Happy Birthday.”

Chapel Grace Brolin

Josh and Kathryn’s second child together, Chapel Grace, was born on Christmas Day 2020. The proud mom and dad announced the news alongside a photo of their tot wearing a pink hat and swaddled in a matching blanket.

“Born at 6:20 p.m. on 12/25/20. Our little Christmas evening angel,” Kathryn captioned her post via Instagram. Two days after Chapel’s birthday, Josh explained the meaning behind his fourth child’s name.

“Everywhere we have traveled, the one place Kathryn and I always found a great solace in were chapels,” he shared on social media. “Not being particularly religious, but a God-feeling has heavily inundated our lives and chapels have always been sanctuaries where we felt connectedly free to gives thanks. Chapel Grace is, to us, a manifestation of that celestial feeling that was always felt as we meandered and knelt.”
