Josh Brolin Is ‘Totally Focused’ on Parenting: ‘He’s Savoring Every Minute’ (Exclusive)
Sure, you have may just caught him being the baddie in the most recent Avengers film, but Josh Brolin has something that he’s more about than acting in big-time Hollywood movies: parenting, and he’s going all out to be dad of the year.
“Josh is totally focused on being the best parent he can be. Everybody in his life says he’s a much better dad now than he was as a hotheaded guy in his twenties and thirties still trying to figure out the business and his place in it,” a source exclusively tells Closer Weekly. “Josh’s box office hits over the last year have given him some breathing room to slow down. He’s enjoying the little things and refusing to let nannies and assistants do the cleaning up or diaper changing. These are responsibilities he’s embracing on his own and he’s savoring every minute this time.”
The source adds, “Josh has been killing himself for the last ten years hunting down work and building his legacy and he’s finally taking this moment to relax and enjoy his personal life. He’s in a great place and for once, not in a rush to chase down that next big part.”
The 51-year-old recently welcomed a baby girl with his wife Kathryn Boyd. “Dearest Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce our little girl Westlyn Reign Brolin (Bean),” the actor captioned a video on Instagram of his smiling daughter. “Mama Kathryn was stellar during this miracle birth and Bean is a flawless gem through and through. We are blessed to the core and appreciate so much the love and support during this pregnancy from ALL who have partaken in our journey, directly and/or indirectly.”
The Deadpool 2 costar and the model, 31, were married in 2016. And while this is Kathryn’s first child, it is Josh’s third, as he is a dad to two other kids — Trevor, 30, and Eden, 25. Josh shares his two oldest children with Alice Adair, whom he was married to from 1988 until 1994. And let’s not forget that The Goonies star was also once hitched to Diane Lane from 2004 until 2013. No children came from that relationship though.
It’s nice to hear that Josh is simply loving being a dad again!
