Johnny Galecki Will Be Taking a ‘Slow and Deliberate Approach’ to Acting Career to Focus on Being a Dad

Time for a vacation!

Now that The Big Bang Theory has wrapped up, dad-to-be Johnny Galecki will be taking it easy moving forward, so it may be some time until we see him grace the small screen again, as he will be spending his time with his pregnant girlfriend, Alaina Meyer.

“He’s got nothing big in the pipeline work-wise so he’s going to take Alaina and see all the places he’s always dreamed of seeing, before diaper duty kicks in,” an insider exclusively tells Closer Weekly. “It’s finally time to lean back and catch up on the traveling he couldn’t do when he was putting in 70 hours a week on ‘BBT.'”

The source continues, “Jim Parsons wanted to get back to work immediately after the show ended, but Johnny is taking a slower and more deliberate approach. It could be two or three years before he takes on another series, if at all.” They add, “It’s time for him to devote his energy to charities and to keeping Alaina happy and secure. He doesn’t have anything to prove except to have a happy home life.”

The couple began dating in September 2018, and earlier this month they revealed that they are expecting their first child together.

“We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we will soon be welcoming a little one into this crazy and wonderful world,” the Conners actor, 44, wrote via Instagram on May 3. “We ask that you please respect our privacy during this celebratory time for us and our families. There truly is love out there for all. We hope ours is the ember of yours, as we feel yours is the ember of ours.”

Johnny has been quite open about how crazy he is about his girlfriend — he once sent Alaina nothing but kind words on her birthday. “My Queen. My muse. My friend. My Love. You are an incredible light and I will never let you forget it,” he captioned numerous Instagram photos of the pair.

We are happy to hear that Johnny is taking some well deserved time off to spend with his girlfriend, and to prepare for fatherhood. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for them!
