Actor John Stamos being moved to tears while talking about his six-month-old son, Billy Stamos, is sure to be the sweetest thing you’ll see today. John, 55, may be a working dad who has been in the business for decades now, but that doesn’t make being away from his wife, Caitlin McHugh, and Billy any easier.

“I miss him,” the Fuller House star admitted through visible tears during his Thursday appearance on Live! with Kelly and Ryan. “This is the longest I’ve been away from him. I’ve been waiting my whole life for [fatherhood],” he replied, laughing as Kelly Ripa handed John a box of tissues. “I’m so happy, I’m so happy.” Watch the touching video below!

John must be crushing the dad game because his wife can’t stop gushing over how seamlessly John transitioned into dad life. “It’s beautiful seeing [John] with Billy. It all feels so right. It feels like this is the way it should’ve always been,” Caitlin recently revealed to Entertainment Tonight. “He comes so naturally to fatherhood and I love watching it. I stare at both of them all the time. [John is] 100 percent full-on active and fantastic… He’s perfect, he’s a perfect father.”

John and Caitlin are currently working on making a fuller house — literally! Caitlyn also told ET that she and John are working to grow their family. “Right now, Billy is extremely spoiled and we need to share the love, he’s gotta share some of those toys and all the things that have been given to him. He needs [siblings] to keep him grounded,” she explained. “If he’s the only one, he’ll get way too much love because there hasn’t been a child on either side of our family in quite some time.”

When Kelly Ripa asked John on Live! if he and Caitlin were trying for baby No. 2, John snarkily replied, “We’re trying but the kid’s, like, a C-block — can I say that?” We hope that John and Caitlyn are finding time in their busy schedules — and maybe time while Billy is sleeping — in order to grow their family, because honestly, we can’t wait to see more McHugh-Stamos babies!
