Only John Stamos could find a reason to smile following the death of Don Rickles.

The 53-year-old Fuller House star recently posted a sweet Instagram pic of his late mother, Loretta Phillips, posing with Don. The snapshot was shared on Sunday, April 9 in honor of Loretta’s birthday. John captioned the photo, “I bet you’re laughing a little harder today. Happy Birthday [to] my sweet mom. I miss you both madly.”

What a sweet tribute! The actor sadly lost his mother in 2014 which left him heartbroken.

“She was truly one of a kind and will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her,” he wrote shortly after her death. “A few weeks ago, I asked my mom if she remembered an inconsequential event — she simply replied, ‘I only remember the love.'”

It’s not only his mother’s love that remains with the actor. John recently was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with his Fuller House co-star Bob Saget following the death of the legendary comedian.

Bob added, “His way of roasting was like nobody else’s. It was not done [in a] mean-spirited [way]. He did it out of love, but then when he was mean to you, it was like a privilege. It was like a gift.”

The two comedians clearly miss Don in the wake of his sudden death, but they know his kindness will be remembered. John explained, “For every mean thing he said in his whole career, he said two nice things.”
