How sweet! John Legend admits that he wouldn’t be as successful as he is today without his wife, Chrissy Teigen, because the supermodel helped him take his career to a whole new level after they tied the knot in 2013.
“‘All of Me’ wouldn’t have existed without our relationship and that song put me on a higher career plane,” the singer, 40, admitted. “Then there are people who enjoy our relationship and that has a halo effect on everything we do. Brands buy into it. A lot of deals that we end up doing are done with the knowledge that our profile is raised because we’re together.”
Chrissy’s, 33, charming personality is one of the reasons why the hitmaker has been receiving so many great deals in his career. “Part of its because Chrissy is who she is. She’s authentic,” he said. “No matter who she would’ve been with, she would be funny, she would be interesting and she would be compelling to follow. But her being married to someone who’s also famous and whose biggest song is about her heightened our profile.” He added, “It’s like my music set a precedent for us being more known, and then once people actually paid attention to her on social media … people get the sense she’s one of them.”
John and Chrissy met in 2007 on the set of his “Stereo” music video and John admits that Chrissy’s social media presence has helped him show a different side of himself to his fans that he doesn’t really talk about in his music. “She shows more quirks online than most people,” he said. “Through our interaction online, my fans get to see a fun side of me that may not come out in my music. If it weren’t for her, I’d probably engage more conservatively online.”
The couple have two children together — Luna, 2, and Miles, 9 months. They are also one of our favorite couples out there. We know they are going to continue to be one incredible duo!
