We hope he’s okay!

Joe Jackson — the patriarch of the Jackson family — was involved in a scary car accident in Las Vegas on Friday, June 30 and he had to be hospitalized after the crash. The father of Janet Jackson, the late Michael Jackson, and the rest of the famous Jackson clan released a statement regarding the incident.

“Earlier today while in the car with my assistant, we got involved in an accident,” Joe wrote in a statement posted on his official website. “I got out of it without a scratch. My assistant, however, had to be taken to the emergency [room] because the airbag in the car broke his thumb. We are leaving and going back out to enjoy our lunch at home. All is well.”

But even though the 88-year-old said that he didn’t have any physical injuries, TMZ reported that Joe had to be taken to a nearby hospital via an ambulance because he was complaining of chest pains.

Joe was sitting in the driver seat of his black Jaguar when he was involved in T-bone collision with another vehicle. According to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police obtained by People, the other driver was deemed “at fault” because they were attempting to turn left at the time of the accident and “failed to yield the right of way.”

This is the third time in three years that Joe has landed in the hospital. Back in 2015, he suffered a stroke while on vacation in Brazil and last year, he was admitted into a hospital with a high fever.

While Joe has been out of the spotlight for quite some time, his granddaughter Paris Jackson has been stepping out more and more since launching her modeling career — but her uncle Jermaine Jackson says it’s the family’s responsibility to look after her since her dad Michael’s death.

“We’re very proud of Paris. I just think we have to make sure she is ok because this business not kind to anybody. It can break you,” he recently told The Sun Online.
