It seems even actresses get nervous around members of the royal family!

During a recent interview on Conan, Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt — who plays unlucky lady’s maid Anna Bates on the hit show — recalled Kate Middleton‘s March 2015 visit to the set and revealed she made in embarrassing comment to the Duchess of Cambridge when they met!

After Kate, 34, watched Joanne, 35, film a scene with her costar Michelle Dockery — who portrays Lady Mary Crawley on DowntonPrince William‘s wife admitted she thought it was funny to be standing in Lady Mary’s bedroom, a set she’d previously only seen on TV.

“I said, ‘Yeah, not many people get to come in Lady Mary’s bedroom,'” Joanne told late night host Conan O’Brien of her response. “And then I was like, ‘Oh my God. What have I just said?’ I’ve just said something that could be taken really the wrong way… and I thought, ‘Do I say? Do I draw attention to it?'”

Thankfully, Joanne said Kate let the awkward comment fly by and didn’t mention it!
