HGTV fans were heartbroken when they learned Joanna Gaines and Chip Gaines decided to cancel Fixer Upper after five seasons. However, the power couple decided to end their hit show to spend time with their four kids, Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7 (and baby No. 5 on the way!).

In new footage from their Tuesday, March 6 episode called “How We Got Here,” the couple reflected on filming the show with their little ones. “It seems like there’s never a dull moment. I don’t think a lot of people get to say, ‘I get to take the kids to work,'” Chip shared.

Joanna can’t believe how many good times they’ve had both in front of and behind the camera with their family the past few years, but more specifically how fast time has gone. “It is crazy when I look at these kids, they’re growing so fast,” she shared. “So for us, whether it’s just ice cream or playing games, we gotta make those moments count.”

In a new interview with People, Joanna also opened up about how important family is to her and Chip. “They’re so young, and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood,” she shared. “Family is the most important thing in the world.”

Hopefully, this won’t be the last we see of the Gaines kids on the small screen! The duo’s spin-off show, Fixer Upper: Behind the Design, airs in April — and we’re hoping they all make a cameo.

Joanna previously said of the series, “I can’t wait to show our fans how every piece of the design comes together before the final reveal I want to nail every detail so that, when we walk away, Chip and I know we’ve given a family the one-of-a-kind home of their dreams.” Chip added, “Jo puts her heart and soul into every fixer upper we design. Our hope is that these homes become a beautiful part of each family’s next chapter.” We can’t wait to watch!
