“This is 40,” Joanna Gaines said about her pregnancy cravings on Instagram and in a recent post she wrote, “Evidence of a late-night with my boy.” The photo showed her room in a state of disarray with her infant, Crew Gaines, napping nearby.

“The hardest part of the past few months is the sleepless nights,” an insider exclusively told Closer Weekly (in the magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands now!) about the mom and entrepreneur’s new schedule. “There have been times when Joanna hasn’t been to bed in 24 hours.”

Even though Crew, who was born in June, is Joanna and husband Chip Gainesfifth child, “I feel like I’m a first-time mom all over again,” Joanna previously revealed in the fall issue of her and Chips’ magazine, Magnolia Journal. But you can’t keep a good woman down! “As hard and exhausting as it is, I’m seeing that I was made ready for this season just as much as I was made ready for the last,” Joanna insisted of balancing a new baby with her and Chip’s successful Magnolia brand.

In fact, the couple is even reportedly planning a return to TV. “Welcoming [Crew] this summer has reminded me more than ever that despite my own doubts and insecurities, I am built for these things,” she added.

Chip, 43, and Joanna have proven that anything they set their sights on is bound to turn to gold. Their HGTV show, Fixer Upper, became the network’s highest-rated program shortly after its 2013 debut. Its success turned the charming couple from Waco, TX, into celebrities almost overnight, and they added a magazine, a boutique marketplace, books, a restaurant, and product line at Target to their Magnolia portfolio — all while raising Drake, 13, Ella, 12, Duke, 12, and Emmie Kay, 8.

“I truly enjoy having a lot on my plate,” Joanna said of her knack for tackling big to-do lists. “Too much downtime and I get antsy. Not enough projects and I get bored.” Adding a newborn back into her daily routine has definitely been a readjustment, “but she’s learning how to adapt,” the insider said. “Joanna’s always up for a good challenge.”

Chip and the kids have been a huge help. “Chip doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty when it comes to changing diapers,” the insider shared, “and Drake takes his role as the oldest seriously by keeping his younger siblings entertained.”

The little ones all eagerly dote on the baby, too. “Not a day goes by without one of them reaching for a favorite book for story time with Crew,” Joanna has gushed. “There’s nothing sweeter than that.”

While fans are thrilled for the couple’s happy home life, they haven’t given up hope that the duo, who ended Fixer Upper in April, will return to TV soon. Rumors are swirling that Chip and Joanna are in talks for a new reality project for Amazon Prime Video streaming services, but for now the couple are tight-lipped about details.

To hold them over, Magnolia maniacs can look forward to Joanna’s design book, Homebody, that’s due out this fall. Until then, Chip and Joanna are looking forward to more blissful moments down on their farm in Waco as the family regroups and they plan for their future projects.

“This pregnancy forced me to truly rest,” Joanna said of how Crew reminded her to practice what she and Chip preach. “I believe home,” Joanna wrote on Magnolia’s website, “is the most important place on earth.”
