Joanna Gaines Announces She Wrote A Children’s Book With Her Kids About ‘Never Giving Up’

Seriously, is there anything Joanna Gaines can’t do? Besides having an impressive resume, the former Fixer Upper star is expanding the empire that she and her husband, Chip Gaines, built by officially becoming a children’s book author. The home decor guru announced her exciting news on Monday, Jan. 14 by sharing a set of photos of her new book titled We Are The Gardeners via Instagram.

“Today’s the day! We get to finally share this project the kids and I have been working on,” Jo, 40, wrote in the caption. “We wrote this children’s book together to tell the story of our journey in the garden.” Take a look at the photos below and be sure to click the right arrow to see more!

According to the mom-of-five, the book she wrote along with her kids is “a story of trying and failing and trying again and never giving up.” Jo is no stranger to loving all-things-plants, therefore it’s no surprise that she would write a book on the importance of gardening.

For Joanna and her growing kiddos, 13-year-old Drake, 12-year-old Ella, 9-year-old Duke, 8-year-old Emmie, and 6-month-old Crew, gardening is a fun activity her family can bond over. “We hope it inspires you and your little ones to get outside, get your hands dirty, and grow something great!” she wrote on Instagram. Joanna’s book announcement comes during a transitional period for the Gaineses. The brunette beauty and Chip, 44, recently announced that they are returning to TV with their very own “lifestyle-focused network.” But as they gear up for their highly anticipated comeback, the power couple has been trying to stay out of the public eye for the time being.

Jimmy Don from JDH Iron Designs, who worked with the couple on their hugely successful show, recently revealed to Closer Weekly that Chip and Jo are enjoying their peace and quiet for now. “They’re laying low… staying low key,” Jimmy said. “I saw them drive by this morning. They tend to stop by the Magnolia Headquarters occasionally and deal with their businesses in town in Waco. They don’t visit the headquarters too much because they spend the majority of their time tending to family matters and spending more time at home.”

Considering Jo gave birth to her fifth child in June 2018, we’re not surprised that the Magnolia owners are wanting to soak up time with their family. “They’re amazing as parents, just like his parents and her parents,” Jimmy added. “They’re so good with the kids! I feel like a better person because I got to know the Gaineses and their parents — they’re all kind people.”
