During the season 15 finale of popular weight loss show The Biggest Loser, viewers were shocked when winner Rachel Frederickson revealed her disturbingly skinny figure to claim the cash prize. But they weren't the only ones.
Jillian Michaels, a long-time trainer on the show, was noticeably shaken by the 24-year-old's appearance, and according to insiders, it raised questions for the fitness enthusiast regarding the show's safety.
A source says the 40-year-old is "deeply concerned about the direction the show has been taking...especially considering what happened with Rachel."
Jillian has already left the show twice before, returning in 2013 for the 14th season. "They asked her to come back to boost the ratings and they needed her, but the Rachel thing shook her up," the insider explains. "Her feeling is there isn't proper attention paid to the contestant's health or wellness."
The mother-of-two had previously told the Huffington Post she was "stunned" by Rachel's 155-pound weight loss, admitting, "I thought she had lost too much weight."
A source also told People magazine Jillian is tired of her "bad guy" persona on the long-running competition.
"She's not the negative person they portray her as," the insider shares. "She wants to be in a place where she has more respect."
