Uh-oh! The Tree of Life actress Jessica Chastain had the weirdest thing happen to her when she came across a beautiful majestic horse on the street. Before she could even pet the animal and feel its fur, the horse opened it’s jaw and quickly bit down on Jessica’s chest causing her to yell “Ouch!”

After viewing the moment, which was caught on camera, Jessica decided to share the video to her Instagram page on Sunday, May 26. Apparently the clip funny enough to have already been viewed more than 500,000 times. She penned the caption, “I can’t believe that I survived.”

“At least you ask if you could touch,” pal Drew Scott commented. “The horse isn’t that polite.” Jessica’s former The Help costar Octavia Spencer even shared two crying heart emojis and three kissing face emojis in support of her funny-yet-alarming video.

Even though Jessica got a ton of great comments online, some people said that she supported the “poor” treatment of animals in the horse carriage industry by stopping to give the animal attention on the street.

“Poor horse. They are treated so terribly,” one concerned Instagram user wrote. Another said, “That was the horse asking for help. He wants to be in a farm roaming, running, living horse adventures.”

“For everyone’s knowledge,” Jessica responded back. “Loving an animal and wanting to give it affection does not mean that I support the horse carriage industry. I always stop and ask if I can pet an animal. That’s my nature.”

Thanks to Jessica’s statement, her fans quickly understood where she was coming from. “Thank you so much for clarifying,” one of her followers shared online. “It’s such a cruel tradition. I try to tell them I’m sorry when I’m given permission to pet them and show them compassion.”

Hopefully the next time Jessica sees a cute animal on the street, the Oscar nominee will take some precaution!
