Jerry O’Connell teased his aspirations for his future gig amid the cancellation of the daytime show The Talk, setting his sights on Bravo.

“Maybe I can be the first Real Househusband who’s a cast member,” the TV host, 50, told Us Weekly in a story published on December 28. “I want a diamond! That would be really fun. I think I’d do a great job.”

Jerry also told the outlet that his wife, Rebecca Romijn, isn’t a contender for a spot on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills because she “won’t do it” and is a “much more private” person than he is.

The couple visited Andy Cohen’s clubhouse on Watch What Happens Live in October 2022 and Jerry wasted no time pitching his wife as the newest Beverly Hills Housewife.

“I’m actually here to talk to Andy tonight about possibly an open seat on the Beverly Hills Housewives,” Jerry said during the episode, joking, “Let’s get a shot of the possible future of Beverly Hills.”

The same month, Jerry shared his love for Housewives and admitted that he may be a better fan than a castmate.

“If I got booed at Bravocon, I would leave the country,” Jerry told Us Weekly at the time. “I would be gone. I don’t know if I could handle it, but Lisa Rinna handles it really well.”

Being a fan of the popular Housewives franchise was one of the many reasons Jerry was chosen to be the first male panelist on The Talk in 2021. While he was getting settled into the cast as Sharon Osbourne’s replacement, an insider exclusively told Closer that “everyone likes him. He’s a professional and a good guy.”

The source later added, “Jerry doesn’t have one enemy in this town. He’s funny. He loves discussing pop culture and hot topics.”

In March, a second insider exclusively told Closer that The Talk was “in trouble” and tensions were at “an all-time high” between the entire cast alongside Jerry including Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood after CBS announced a new Black soap opera was in the works.

“Things changed. The network no longer prioritized it. The advertising budget was reduced as ratings declined,” source No. 2 revealed at the time. “If the new soap is a hit, there will be more that follow. Today, The Talk is in trouble. Tomorrow it could be The View!”

CBS announced the cancellation of The Talk on April 12, making season 15 the last hoorah.

“The Talk broke new ground when it launched 14 years ago by returning daytime talk to CBS with a refreshing and award-winning format,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios president David Stapf said in a statement. “Throughout the years, it has been a key program on CBS’ top rated daytime line-up as it brought timely, important and entertaining topics and discussions into living rooms around the globe.”

Jerry reacted to the end of his time on the show via Instagram the following day, writing, “Fun times! Let’s have a great season!”

The final episode aired on December 20.
