Jennifer Love Hewitt Reveals Daughter’s Interest in Acting in Rare Update About Her Kids

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s eldest child, Autumn, is on the path to Hollywood stardom. The I Know What You Did Last Summer actress opened up about how her daughter has already had her first acting experience and is itching to learn more about the industry.

“Our big thing with her is, even though my experience as a kid actor was very positive, I think we’ve both sort of said, ‘Stay in school, do that,'” Jennifer, 45, told E! News in an interview published on Monday, November 18. “‘Grow up. Wait until you’re a little bit older. Don’t take all of this on quite yet.’”

Autumn, 10, made a cameo in an episode of 9-1-1 last year. She is also set to appear with her siblings, Atticus, 9, and Aiden, 3 in The Holiday Junkie. Jennifer directed, executive produced and stars in the festive film, which is set to premiere on Lifetime on December 14.

“It was great fun,” she said of the experience of working with her children on the film. “It was crazy with our three kids. They got to be there for some of it. It was really great. It was special.”

She revealed that the experience left her “sobbing.” How sweet!

Jennifer shares her kids with husband Brian Hallisay, whom she wed in 2013. The Golden Globe nominee reflected on how Hollywood is a “different business” now than when she “started” her acting career.

“It’s not quite as simple and easy with social media and all of that stuff now,” the mom of three explained. “Our hope for her is that she’ll just be a kid.”

While Autumn is interested in acting, Jennifer said that she and Brian have laid out all of their priorities for their children, including getting a good education.

“I am a proponent of Autumn going to school and sort of growing up and figuring out who she is before she does all that as a kid,” he told the outlet. “Because if it’s something that you want to do, you have to work hard at it and it’s not easy.”

Jennifer previously talked about the subject of whether or not her kids were interested in acting during an interview with E! News in May.

“Atticus is very clear on the fact that he does not want to,” she explained. “He finds it very nerve-wracking and he’s like, ‘I do not want people to get upset with me if I mess up a line or something so I’m just not into it.'”

“Autumn, on the other hand, is ready to walk a red carpet tomorrow,” she added of her eldest child. “She is me when I was that age — which is really scary — but I can see it in her. I think she really wants to do it.”

The Ghost Whisperer alum said that she could already see a lot of potential in Autumn.

“She’s also got a really good head on her shoulders and she’s kind of like, ‘But I don’t want it to mess with my time at school and I want to go to college and I want to do this.’ So, I think she’s going to be more balanced than me,” Jennifer revealed.
