Jennifer Lopez Admits Her Relationship With Alex Rodriguez Wouldn’t Work If They’d Met Earlier In Life

Singer Jennifer Lopez is thankful for her past mistakes. In a new interview with Grazia, Jennifer said that if she’d met her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez, earlier on in her life then they might not have the “successful relationship” they’re in today. But thankfully, J.Lo, 49, and A-Rod, 43, got together when they were older and wiser and know how to take care of each other.

“[Alex] had said it was too crazy, and I didn’t know him back then, so I [took] his word for it,” Jennifer recalled about Alex delaying their romance. “And I needed to bounce around a little bit and figure myself out. I wasn’t ready for the healthiest things, because I needed to figure out how to be healthy first — how to have self-worth, value, and deal with my insecurities.”

Rumors started surfacing that the couple began dating in early 2017 and Alex later confirmed it when he made an appearance on The View that same year. “It’s obvious, we’ve been having a great time,” he gushed about his superstar girlfriend. “She’s an amazing girl and one of the smartest human beings I’ve ever met and also an incredible mother.”

Jennifer and Alex later made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala in May 2017 and when they walked the red carpet, they looked like the best power couple ever! Peter Segal, who directed the actress in Second Act, previously told Us Weekly, that “the question is when not if” they’ll tie the knot, but when! “I think it’s inevitable [that they are going to get married] but I’m not going to predict when,” he said.

“An engagement is definitely on the horizon,” a source told Us Weekly in a separate interview. “Alex is obsessed with Jen and spends as much time as he can with her.”
