Well, that clearly didn’t go as planned for Jennifer Garner! The A-list actress took to Instagram on Monday, Aug. 6 to share that she and her eldest daughter, Violet, 12, got lost while on a kayak during their recent vacation in Sweden.

The 42-year-old posted a photo of the two riding into the sunset during their kayaking trip. And while the pic was beautiful, their experience was actually far from it. “On a pre-middle-school sneak away with my eldest… Did I get us lost in a kayak? Yes. Did we paddle as hard as we could for 100 hours and end up in a shipping lane? I’m afraid so,” Jennifer shared. “Did we have to be rescued? Yup. #TheSunsetWasaBigUpside #SheNeverComplained.” We’re glad the girls are ok following the scary situation!

Jennifer also chronicled details of how she was saved while out at sea. “If you’ve seen my post today… This is Mattias! Our savior! Thank you, @bipsterpersson!” she wrote alongside a selfie with “Mattias” on her Instagram story. We bet he felt super lucky to save the 13 Going on 30 star!

Violet was welcomed by Jen and her ex-husband Ben Affleck in 2005. The duo is also parents to a daughter Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6. In a previous interview, she told the funny story of when she found out she and Ben were expecting Violet.

“I woke up that morning and I just knew and I peed on the stick and it was so faint… those first few days it’s so faint, you can hardly tell,” she began. “So I was on my way to work and I called my doctor and said, ‘Can I come in and have a proper test?'”

“And he gave me one and he said, ‘I don’t know, you’re not pregnant. It’s negative.’ And I was like, ‘Yea, I am, I’m telling you I am,'” Jen added. “And so, she’s 12 and I don’t use that doctor anymore but I do have her, so I won.” Too funny!
