When it came to her epic 50th birthday party this past weekend, Jennifer Aniston loved spending time with every celeb in attendance at the special event — even her ex-husband Brad Pitt! According to Us Weekly, the Friends star “mostly mingled with her girlfriends” during the bash but was “happy” that Brad was able to come to the party.
“Jen spoke to Brad briefly. At one point she hugged him and thanked him for coming,” a source said of the party, which took place at Los Angeles’ Sunset Tower on Saturday, February 10. Though Jen and Brad seem to be on good terms today, the insider added that most guests “were surprised to see Brad there and were making a big deal of it.”
The source added that “it didn’t seem like that big of a deal to Jen” that Brad, 55, came to the party as she partied with friends including George Clooney and his wife, Amal Clooney, Reese Witherspoon, Ellen DeGeneres, Robert Downey Jr., Katy Perry and another one of her exes, John Mayer. “The invite went out to a ton of people and [Brad] accepted,” the insider explained. “She was happy he was there, but that was it. She was busy making the rounds and excited to see so many people near and dear to her.”
Brad seemingly fit in just fine with all the other stars who came out to celebrate Jen’s milestone birthday, which is today, Monday, February 11. “Brad seemed to have fun and everyone loved seeing him. He was catching up with old friends and enjoyed himself,” the insider said of the Fury actor’s time at the event. “He saw a lot of people he hadn’t seen in years. Any negative feelings seem to have been put aside by Jen’s friends. It’s been a long time and everyone has moved on. Brad didn’t stay all that long and ducked out before most people.”
Jen and Brad previously tied the knot back in 2000 and were married for five years before they called it quits in 2005. Years later, the blonde beauty married her second husband, Justin Theroux, in August 2015. Their Hollywood romance sadly ended in divorce, too, when Jen and Justin, 47, separated in February 2018.
Leading up to Jen’s milestone birthday, a source revealed that she wasn’t having much anxiety about turning the big 5-0. “She’s not worried about the number 50,” a source told Us Weekly in early February. “She feels like life gets better with age and she isn’t looking back. The older she gets, the more comfortable she is in her own skin. She’s in a good place and happy.” We hope Jen had an amazing time at her epic party!
