Jenna Bush Hager Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction on ‘Today’ While Drinking Beer: ‘Ruined My Dress’

Jenna Bush Hager was oh so relatable yet again on Today during a moment that had fans at home saying OMG!

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, she and guest cohost Willie Geist drank a pint of Guinness on the show on Monday, March 17. But while the former first daughter, 43, was attempting the TikTok trend called “splitting the G,” she ended up making a bit of a mess.

According to Urban Dictionary, “splitting the G” means, “On your first try of drinking a Pint of Guinness you drink enough to where the black of the pint is directly in line with the line in the middle of the G.”

As Jenna made her attempt, she said, “Make my mom proud, Laura this is for you,” referencing her mom, former first lady Laura Bush. Once Jenna started drinking the beer, some of it ended up spilling all over her green dress and her chin.

But Jenna and Willie, 49, were quick to make a quip about the onscreen blunder.

“I didn’t even make it!” Jenna joked after the spill.

“Oh no!” he said. “Does anyone have a mop or a tarp we can put down? Let’s help you out here. Oh, Jenna.”

Jenna asked, “What just happened?”

“My body couldn’t take it. My body just rejected that. Unfortunately, I ruined my nice green dress,” she explained after attempting the challenge.

“I just can’t believe someone could actually do that,” she continued.

“That’s shocking to me,” Willie said. “This is shocking to me, what I just witnessed.”

Jenna said that she thought she had “all the nice beer moves saved up.”

Willie is just one of the guest cohosts Jenna has brought on Today’s fourth hour since Hoda Kotb’s final episode on January 10. Fans have been absolutely loving seeing the Sunday Today host sit beside Jenna at the news desk on Today With Jenna & Friends. Many want him to take over the spot permanently.

“I think he’s the one!” one person commented on the show’s Sunday, March 16, Instagram post announcing that Willie would be sitting beside Jenna on Monday.

“Yes!!! Love Willie!! He has to be the one!!” another person said.

“Please @jennabhager put him every day when you get to pick some one to sit by you please choose him to host with you and I promise I will watch the show every year have a wonderful Sunday god bless you both,” someone else wrote.

“Willie is the one! He is and should be the new HODA! The rest have been good but Willie is the perfect fit! Can’t we all just accept this?!” another remarked.

So far, NBC has not shared an official timeline as to when they will be choosing Hoda’s permanent replacement.

“How long are the powers that be going to make Jenna adapt to cohost after cohost, week after week? It seems very unfair to her and it is exhausting for the viewers. We have said all along, Willie is the one! PLEASE! Just seal the deal!!!” another viewer commented on the Instagram post.

“Many have been really good. While the variety is fun, it can’t be easy for Jenna having to get used to the personalities and styles of different people each week. Hat’s off to her, too,” another person said.
