At 77-years-old, Jane Fonda is done holding back — especially when it comes to talking about her body!

“I’ve always had a good bum,” the actress said in a new interview of her best asset. “I’m older now, and I have to be more self-conscious. When you’re young, you can get away with more. I always thought that being self-conscious was a negative. But now I feel differently.”

“I did have plastic surgery. I’m not proud of the fact that I’ve had it. But I grew up so defined by my looks. I was taught to think that if I wanted to be loved, I had to be thin and pretty. That leads to a lot of trouble,” she said of previously undergoing cosmetic procedures on her eyes, chin and neck.

In addition to returning to TV with a new Netflix show, Grace and Frankie — which reunited her with her former 9 to 5 costar, Lily Tomlin! — Jane is now gaining recognition as a fashion icon, despite her older age.

“I think it’s a hoot that, at my age, people are calling me a fashion icon,” she said in the new June/July issue of W Magazine. “My relationship to fashion has always been strained.”
