Now that's one tough lady! Jane Fonda proved what an inspiration she is once again on Jan. 15, when she showed up to a BUILD Series event to promote her show Grace and Frankie with a large bandage over her lower lip. The iconic actress quickly admitted that she had to have surgery recently to remove a cancerous growth from her face!

"I just want to explain the bandage,” she explained to the crowd, according to ET. “I just had a cancer taken from my lip. I thought it was going to heal in time before I came before you, but it’s fine. I just want to explain it. I don’t normally go around like this.”

We can't help but admire Jane for being straightforward with her fans instead of canceling the event to hide her condition. It isn't easy to be bold and show up with a huge bandage on your face! However, the 80-year-old did jokingly try to hide it in a photo shoot with co-star Lily Tomlin. Later, Jane stopped by The Howard Stern Show, and she had a similarly positive outlook about the situation. "Hey listen, the world is falling apart, what’s a lip?"

But don't worry. Even though the growth was cancerous, it doesn't sound like it spread anywhere or will cause her any more harm. “Yeah, they did [biopsy it.] I’m going to be fine, thanks,” she explained. Thank goodness! Jane was probably so forthcoming because she didn't want fans worrying, or others speculating that she's had even more plastic surgery. We're just glad she's happy and healthy!
