Iconic HBO show The Sopranos is back on everyone’s radar with news of a prequel movie being set to start filming in March. And while lead James Gandolfini sadly passed away in June 2013 at age 51 from a heart attack — six years after The Sopranos wrapped in June 2007 — his legacy does live on not only in his work but especially in his kids.

James welcomed two children during his life. His oldest, Michael, now 19, was born in 2000. Michael’s mother, Marcy Wudarski, was married to James from 1999 to 2002. James also had a daughter, Liliana, now 6, in 2012 to with his second wife, Deborah Lin. Most recently, the oldest of the Gandolfini kids made a public appearance in NYC on Wednesday, Jan. 9 for The Sopranos 20th Anniversary Panel Discussion at the SVA Theater. And in the new pics, Michael looks just like his late dad.

Michael was in attendance at the event along with many of the show’s cast-members including Steven Van Zandt, Jamie-Lynn SiglerMichael Imperioli, Robert Iler, and Edie Falco. Series creator David Chase was also on hand to discuss the popular show and its legacy.

“I saw a picture of myself in the newspaper,” David said at the event, according to Variety. “And I thought, 20 years. Jesus Christ. People come up to me, and they say, thank you for the show, we really loved it, except for that ending.” James’ son — who wasn’t even born yet when the series aired its first episode — has now started acting just like his famous father. Most notably, Michael has played Joey Dwyer on the HBO series The Deuce.

Last summer, Michael took to Instagram to share a tribute for his beloved dad on the fifth anniversary of his death. “Five years without your hugs, your laugh, and your smile,” Michael wrote in the caption. “I miss you, but today is not about me. As much as I hate that you’re gone, it in face was your time. And today I celebrate you and your life. I love you, dad, miss you.”
