Oh no! We’ve all had those days when we just want to scream at the top of our lungs because nothing has been going right. And, apparently, that’s a common feeling for Jada Pinkett Smith, too. In fact, the actress said that she used to have nervous breakdowns but, at the time, she didn’t know that her emotional distress was called that. The only thing that Jada knew was that she needed help.

She described her nervous breakdown to be something that she couldn’t comprehend. “It’s like when you just don’t have control over emotions, your thoughts, you feel completely and utterly out of control,” Jada said in an upcoming episode of Red Table Talk, according to Us Weekly. “I don’t even think at that particular time I understood that it was what people would consider a nervous breakdown.”

The 47-year-old actress’ mom, Adrienne Banfield-Jones — who’s a regular on the show — agreed with her daughter. “I completely understood that,” she said. Jada’s daughter, Willow Smith, 18, has also opened up about her mental health in the past and said that she dealt with her struggles by harming herself.

“It was after that whole ‘Whip My Hair’ thing and I had just stopped doing singing lessons and I kind was in this gray area of: ‘Who am I? Do I have a purpose? Is there anything I can do besides this?’” she said in a previous episode of Red Table Talk. “I was cutting myself and doing crazy things.”

“What? When were you cutting yourself?” Jada asked Willow in disbelief. “I didn’t see that part. Cutting yourself where?” Willow responded, “On my wrist. I mean, you can’t even see it but there’s still a little something there,” she said. “But like, I totally lost my sanity for a moment there. I never talk about it because it was such a short weird point in my life. But you have to pull yourself out of it.” We applaud Jada and Willow for bravely speaking out about their mental health!
