You go, Jada Pinkett Smith! On a new episode of her Facebook Watch Series, Red Table Talk, Jada opened up about her life in her 40s and said that she finally feels completely at ease and happier than she’s ever been.

“I’m 47 years old and I want you to know that this is probably the first year of my life that I can say that I am happy,” she confessed on the talk show on Monday, February 25. “Because that’s how long the journey’s been.” Jada was joined by her daughter, Willow Smith, her mom, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, and their guests, Justin Baldoni and rapper Wale on the program. In a previous episode of the emotional series, the actress recalled her long road to happiness.

“I had an emotional breakdown that definitely, I feel like, affected my mental stability,” she said about her mental well-being shortly after becoming famous. “I had gotten to [Los Angeles] and gotten a certain amount of success and realized that that wasn’t the answer … that that wasn’t what was going to make everything OK … actually, it made things worse. And I became extremely suicidal and I had a complete emotional collapse.”

The Girls Trip star had to learn how to deal with the adversities of fame and with her mom’s help, she was able to get her emotions in order. “It’s like when you just don’t have control over emotions, your thoughts — you feel completely and utterly out of control,” she explained. That’s why Jada is never afraid to talk about the importance of mental health.

“I had to just let go and just come to terms with just what life is,” she previously said on her talk show about overcoming her depression. “I also think that I had to uproot some false beliefs.”

We’re just happy that Jada is feeling the best she’s ever felt!
