New year, new Ivanka Trump!
Moments after President-elect Donald Trump's news conference on Wednesday, Jan. 11, the 35-year-old businesswoman took to Facebook to officially share that she will step down from all her business responsibilities to instead move to Washington DC with her husband, Jared Kushner, and their three kids, Arabella, 5, Joseph, 3, and Theodore, 9 months, once her father is inaugurated in a few days.
"When my father takes office as the 45th President of the United States of America, I will take a formal leave of absence from The Trump Organization and my eponymous apparel and accessories brand. I will no longer be involved with the management or operations of either company," she wrote on the social media platform.
"I have appointed Abigail Klem as president to lead my brand. She will work with a board of trustees to manage the strategic and day-to-day operations of the business; I am confident that under her leadership the company will continue creating smart, solution-oriented product, and content," she continued. "My brothers will oversee The Trump Organization, and I know that in their capable hands the business will thrive."
When Donald was first elected in November 2016, Ivanka was vague about her role in her father's administration.
"I'm going to be a daughter. But I've said throughout the campaign that I am very passionate about certain issues. And that I want to fight for them," she said at the time. "So you know there're a lot of things that I feel deeply, strongly about. But not in a formal administrative capacity."
After much speculation, however, Ivanka confirmed in her recent announcement that her husband, Jared, will be a Senior Advisor to Donald.

"My husband, Jared, and I will be moving with our family to Washington DC, where Jared will serve as Senior Advisor to the President. I plan to take time to settle our three young children into their new home and schools," she said.
As previously reported, the family-of-five is set to bunker down in a 6-bedroom, $5.5 million dollar house, which happens to be in the neighborhood Barack Obama and Michelle Obama plan to move to once Donald takes office later this month.
Ivanka concluded by thanking her fans and followers for all their continued support. "I'm grateful for the overwhelming amount of outreach I've received from people all across America who have shared their stories and offered to extend their ideas and expertise in the areas I am deeply passionate about, including the education and empowerment of women and girls; leveling the playing field for female entrepreneurs and job creators and unleashing the potential of women in the workplace," she said. "I am eager to hear more from them as I determine the most impactful and appropriate ways for me to serve our country."
"Thank you to those of you who've lent your voices and perspective. To those of you I’ve yet to meet, I look forward to working with you and for you," the statement finished.
