Marie Osmond Is Rumored to Be Joining ‘The Talk’ After Sara Gilbert’s Departure

Get ready for a whole lot more Marie Osmond in your life! She is rumored to be joining The Talk as a replacement for Sara Gilbert, who announced her exit from the CBS talk show last month.

An announcement will happen next Tuesday, May 7, sources tell TMZ.

The 59-year-old recently announced the end of her and brother Donny Osmond‘s long-running Las Vegas residency at the Flamingo, but they’re still performing until November. This new gig means she will be pulling double duty between The Talk in L.A. and Donny & Marie in Sin City.

Marie guest hosted The Talk — created by Sara, 44, back in 2010 — back on March 25. Prior to that, she has also had her own experience in talk shows. One was with with Donny, 61, titled Donny & Marie (1998-2000) before a solo venture titled Marie on the Hallmark Channel (2012-2013).

Per TMZ, there’s a little drama behind the scenes with the other women of The Talk because of this news. Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve and Carrie Ann Inaba feel that their new cohost needs to be young and edgy. Their bosses, though, are gung-ho for Marie.

“This is hard to do. This is something that I have been struggling with for a while, and going back and forth, but I’ve decided that it’s time for me to leave the show at the end of this season,” Sara said announcing her exit but promising to return sometimes. “I obviously love it here and, like I said, this was extremely difficult.”

“It’s been rumored that we’re bringing Donny & Marie to an end here in Las Vegas. We’re here to say it’s official,” Donny said back in March. “It’s the end of the Donny and Marie show. It’s not the end of Donny and Marie.”

Hopefully, joining The Talk will give Marie something new to be excited about. We certainly are!
