Mark Harmon And Wife Pam Dawber Have ‘Appreciation’ For Each Other After 33 Years Of Marriage (EXCLUSIVE)
It’s been 33 years since NCIS star Mark Harmon and his wife, Pam Dawber, tied the knot — and they are still head over heels for each other after all this time.
“They’re both appreciative to have found each other — they know how treacherous Hollywood marriages can be,” an insider exclusively told Closer Weekly in the magazine’s newest issue, on newsstands now. “They have gratitude, appreciation for each other, and steadiness.”
On top of that, Mark adores his wife. “He thinks she’s the smartest, best person he knows — he takes her seriously,” the source added.
Mark and Pam, both 67, previously met in the mid-80s after being introduced by a mutual friend. They then tied the knot in 1987, and ever since, they’ve been enjoying their mellow, down-to-earth life together.
In the past, the actor has been open about how they enjoy being so private. “It’s not even a choice — it’s who we are,” Mark revealed. “We stay home. A lot. I’m not a Twitter guy or a Facebook guy. Pam and I have both made a living in this business, and still, there’s a part of it that’s just not natural.”
That mindset carried on with the parenting, as they kept that approach while raising sons Sean, 30, and Ty, 26. “They felt they had to be strict so Sean and Ty would not succumb to what many celebrities’ kids do: drugs, alcohol, and partying,” the insider said. “And it worked — their kids are terrific.”
The couple entered the next chapter of their marriage last year when they decided to renew their vows for their 30th anniversary. “It was simple and lovely,” the insider shared. “Nothing flashy — just like them.”
The gesture proved their marriage has only grown stronger and stronger over time — a rarity in Hollywood. “Mark truly adores her,” the source shared.” And as Pam once said, “Mark’s one of those guys who makes you say, ‘They don’t make ’em like that anymore.'”
