She’s known for her gourmet home cooking on the Food Network, but Ina Garten admits that she will indulge in fast food every once in a while. It’s rare, and it has to be from one specific fast food chain — In-N-Out Burger! “I have to say I don’t eat fast food at all, with one exception,” the Barefoot Contessa host said in a recent Today interview. “When we’re in California doing book tours, we always have to go to In-N-Out Burger.” Obviously, Ina has good culinary reasoning behind her fast food of choice. “It’s so good and I know it was Julia Child’s favorite too, so it’s okay,” she added. How cute!

In the same interview, the Food Network star also explained that Julia Child is her biggest culinary inspiration — and not just because of her love for In-N-Out! “She really taught me how to cook through her cookbooks,” Ina said. “I learned how to make hollandaise sauce the right way, and then she showed me how to make it the quick way without losing any of the quality.”

Ina has certainly followed in her idol’s footsteps, teaching her devoted fans how to cook delicious French cuisine with a Hampton’s flair through her many cookbooks and her cooking show Barefoot Contessa. The show has been a mainstay on the Food Network since 2002, and Ina has fed numerous famous guests — including Neil Patrick Harris and Jennifer Garner — throughout the years. But who exactly is Ina’s dream dinner guest? “My dream dinner guest is… [my husband], Jeffrey,” she said. So sweet!

Ina and Jeffrey Garten married in December 1968 and they will celebrate their 49th wedding anniversary this year! She first met her husband when she was just 15 years old while visiting her older brother at Dartmouth University. “He saw me walking around the campus, and he said to his roommate, ‘I wonder who that girl is,'” she said in a past interview with Katie Couric. After all these years, the adorable couple is still going strong. “The secret is just that you care about each other and admire each other and support each other — and you get that back,” Ina said. We wonder how they’re going to be celebrating their big anniversary!
