Just days after David Bowie's tragic death, a close friend of the late star's widow, Iman, revealed she is "holding up" in the wake of his passing.
"She's fine. We're fine. We're holding up. It comes in waves, you know. He's a great loss — not just a loss as an artist, but as a human," the 60-year-old model's longtime pal Bethann Hardison told People.

David sadly passed away at age 69 on Sunday, Jan. 10 after battling liver cancer. "David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer," a statement posted to the singer's official Facebook page read. "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."
The music icon and Iman reportedly first met in October 1990 at a mutual friend's LA birthday party. They later tied the knot in June 1992 in Florence, Italy and welcomed their only child, daughter Alexandria Jones, 15, in August 2000. David also has a 44-year-old son, Duncan Jones, from his first marriage to Angie Bowie and Iman has a 37-year-old son, Zulekha Haywood, with her first husband, Spencer Haywood.

"They really knew each other because they had come up and traveled in the same circles. They were great together," another friend, Teddy Antolin, told People. "She was a real force and he needed a woman by his side to keep him focused."
"You could see after so many years of marriage that they were just like two teenagers in love," journalist Danielle Parker told the magazine of the couple.
