Hugh Jackman Opens Up About the “Mad Crush” He Had on His Wife When They First Met
Though they’ve been married for nearly 20 years, Hugh Jackman admits he’s still embarrassed by the “mad crush” he had on his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, when they were first introduced on the set of Australian TV show ‘Correlli.’
“I was [this] young guy, first job, she’s the star — everyone loved Deb. Literally the whole crew, producers, everyone was in love with her,” the actor, 46, said in a new interview.

“I was really embarrassed when I realized I had a mad crush on her [and] I didn’t talk to her for a week. I was like, ‘This is just humiliating,'” he continued.

After noticing he was acting distant, Deborra-Lee, 59, confronted Hugh, which ultimately forced the star to admit his romantic feelings, the father-of-two explained. Then, much to his surprise, she admitted she too had a crush on Hugh!

“I said ‘Listen, I’ve got a crush on you. It’s embarrassing. I’ll get over it.’ And she went, ‘Oh no.’ And I was like dying and she said, ‘I’ve got a crush on you too.’ Done,” Hugh said on ‘Live! with Kelly and Michael’ on Thursday, March 5.
Just a year after they met, Deborra-Lee and Hugh married in April 1996. The couple later adopted tho children, Oscar, 14, and daughter Ava, 9.
