In a recent interview with Closer Weekly, Hugh admitted that he and Deb got along great when they first met. “There was something that clicked between us right away,” he recalled. “It was the feeling you get when you sense this connection that tells you this is the kind of woman you want in your life.”

At the time, Hugh wasn’t even ready to settle down, but there was just something about Deborra-Lee that made him change his mind. “One of the great pieces of fortune in my career, it started late, but that Deb and I were already set together, a team, madly in love, like literally before it all happened,” he revealed to People in 2017. “We can kind of see all the ups and downs for what they are. Our priority is our family, and we’re there for each other no matter what.”

Not only do they make a great team, but they’ll most likely be together for as long as possible. “Underneath the surface where it’s real, and where it’s still and where it’s deep, that is the love I have with Deb,” he gushed, admitting that Deb is his “rock” and is always there for him.

“I put my hand on my heart and I always look to Deb in the audience,” Hugh explained about what he does at award shows. “Straight afterwards, I will not see anybody in my dressing room until Deb’s been in. Because that is my foundation, that is the rock, that is the foundation of our family, and therefore my life.”

Hugh and Deb were simply meant to be!
