Thanks to a lot of hard work, faith, and commitment to family, country singer Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher really do have a fairytale romance! The couple, who got hitched back in 2010, have since added a baby boy named Isaiah Fisher — who is now three years old — to their picturesque family. Despite several divorce rumors, the two remain more in love than ever as both parents, and husband and wife.
These two are so obviously #RelationshipGoals, that fans are often dying to know how Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher met in the first place. Turns out, the beginning of their courtship was just as magical as you'd think.
Carrie recalled during a segment of VH1's Behind the Music that her bassist Mark Childers was looking to introduce her to "a hunky Canadian athlete" named Mike Fisher. Of course, Carrie had her reservations. "Let's get a hockey guy who lives in another country. Awesome," she joked.
Fortunately, the "Before He Cheats" songstress threw caution to the wind and decided to have Mike meet her backstage at one of her concerts. The rest, as they say, was history! Carrie, who was 25 at the time, texted her bassist saying, "Hot, hot, hot," after meeting Mike — confirming that there was definitely sparks between them.
Three months later, they shared their first date on New Year's Eve 2008. "We were in front of people, and he's not a big PDA guy," Carrie told Glamour. "I figured, I'll go in for it because he can't leave me hanging, right? So I made him kiss me in public."
Fast-forward 10 years, and they're one of Hollywood's most beautiful couples. In fact, a source told Life & Style in March that the pair is hoping to try for baby number two! "Carrie wants to be clear that it's not a Band-Aid baby," the insider noted. "It’s definitely not to fix anything. It's to spread the love." Just goes to show how much one kiss can change your life.
