We doubt there's a shortage of women knocking on actor Gerard Butler's door, but at 44 the Playing for Keeps star admits he is "sadly" single and still on the hunt for "the one."
"I have not met the one princess yet," the Scottish actor reveals. "That doesn’t mean I have not met a lot of princesses along the way, but not the one and only yet."
That also doesn't mean the curly-haired star is ruling out reconnecting with a former flame! "Maybe I have [met the one] and she might come back into my life at some point," says Butler, who has been linked to Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz and Naomi Campbell. "But am I seeing the one now? The answer, sadly, is no."

It's totally acceptable to let out a big "aww" right now!
The hunky actor acknowledges that his job is partly to blame for his lack of a lasting love connection.
"It’s harder to be in a relationship in this industry," said Butler. "It’s partly my own fault, and partly the nature of the beast. It’s hard when you are leaving all the time. I’m now in Australia for two months [shooting the film Gods of Egypt]. Who wants to put up with that?"

Though he thinks "love is amazing," the leading lad isn't putting pressure on himself to find that special someone.
"Who says life has to be just one relationship? Maybe it’s meant to have many short relationships," Butler muses. "[Love] is only one aspect of your life. I hope that when I fall in love, I want to support her and not try to change her. I don’t like conditional love."
Although he's not sure there's a perfect girl out there for him, the actor does want children and has had his fair share of practice being an uncle.
"I do want kids. For now I have four nieces," says the star. "I often wonder what it would be like to share a movie with my kids. It does make me think."
Start lining up, ladies!
