Hoda Kotb once again proved that she is the best mom to daughters Haley and Hope. During an episode of Today on Tuesday, December 3, the NBC broadcaster revealed that her eldest daughter came to visit the show on a class trip.
“Lots to get through but Hoda, I see some our favorite second graders on the plaza,” Savannah Guthrie said while chatting with Hoda, 60, during the start of the episode.
“We just want to say hi! Miss Rutherford’s class is here. I’ve got Haley and all of her classmates. Hi guys!” Hoda gushed. “Are you guys freezing cold but you’re having fun?”
“You’re going to see more of them, they’re going to come on our show at 10,” Hoda added. “We’ve got the principal and vice principal — we’ve got the whole crew! Best field trip ever.”
Later on in the show’s fourth hour, Hoda joined Jenna Bush Hager for Today With Hoda & Jenna. The class stood on stage wearing matching Today T-shirts. The students waved to the camera as Hoda and Jenna, 43, made their way to their seats.
“Take a look at these lovely faces! Do you see them? This is my daughter’s second grade class and this is Miss Rutherford in the house!” Hoda gushed.
“I feel like we need a field trip at least once a year,” Jenna said.
Hoda then asked the camera person if they could pan the camera slowly on the class again so that all of the moms watching at home could get a glimpse of their kids on stage. “There they are! Smile guys,” she said excitedly.

Jenna said that it was “fun” to see all of the kids enjoying their time on the show.
“I loved the enthusiasm of the children,” one person wrote in a comment on Today’s official Instagram page.
“A field trip to remember! So darn cute,” another person said.
Haley began going to a new school this year after Hoda decided to move with her kids into a new home in the suburbs. Previously, the Hope Is a Rainbow author lived in a New York City apartment with Haley and Hope, 5.
“Everything changed like that,” Hoda explained. “I have a whole new town and a whole new school, and all the new things. And we went for our first day of school.”
They ended up walking to school, snapping a cute family photo on the way.
“I carried coffee and I had sneakers and I walked with my kids to school like normal people! It was awesome!” Hoda said. “I just loved doing it because I haven’t been able to do that, and it was so fun to walk my kids to school.”
“And I know that it’s like a privilege cause you got to work, but I just thought, ‘You know what, sometimes chapters change you and you miss things. I’m going to do it,’” the journalist, who is leaving Today in January 2025, explained.
