She’s officially a proud mama to her two girls and Hoda Kotb couldn’t be happier! The Today host, who announced that she adopted baby girl Hope Catherine in April, recently opened up about how her second time with adoption was much different from when she first welcomed 2-year-old Haley Joy into her family in 2017.

“I forgot everything! I was like, ‘How do you hold the baby? How do you feed a baby? How do you swaddle?’ I was googling swaddling and — you’re not going to believe this — how to put on pajamas,” the 54-year-old recently admitted to People. “I just can’t believe how in a blink, life changes, and all of a sudden there are two babies in this house. I’m just overwhelmed with joy.”

The beloved TV host first announced that she was expanding her brood when she surprised viewers by announcing her new bundle of joy in a phone call on the April 16 episode of Today. “I think I have a good popstart story to share with you guys,” Savannah Guthrie said as she interrupted meteorologist Dylan Dreyer to break the exciting news. “It’s an exclusive. I think you’re going to want to hear this,” she said on-air. “There’s someone on the phone right now and I think she’s there. Hoda, are you there?”

“Oh I’m here. Hi, guys!” Hoda exclaimed before announcing, “It’s a girl! And her name is Hope!” The brunette beauty, who shares her adopted kiddos with her longtime boyfriend, Joel Schiffman, could be heard relaying the good news through tears over the phone as her fellow Today colleagues wept in happiness.

Since becoming a mom-of-two, life has changed drastically for Hoda, Joel and especially Haley Joy. “Haley has adjusted incredibly well — and being that she is just a toddler herself, they aren’t so far apart in age that they can’t grow up as playmates as well,” a friend close to the Oklahoma native dished to Closer Weekly in mid-April. “There have been a lot of heart-to-hearts between Hoda and Haley, making sure she knows how special she is to them and that Hope is an addition, not a replacement.” We are so happy for Hoda and her beautiful family!
