What happens in Vegas...may end up getting you arrested!
A woman was taken into custody by the secret service after she allegedly threw a shoe at former secretary of state Hillary Clinton's head while the politician was giving a speech at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas.
Hillary was serving as keynote speaker at an Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries meeting when an object came flying towards her.
The former first lady expertly dodged the item, which turned out to be a shoe, and joked about the incident moments later.
"Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque de Soleil?" the 66-year-old quipped.
Though there was a little bit of chaos immediately following the incident, the audience of more than 1,000 applauded Hillary for carrying on.
"My goodness, I didn't know that solid waste management was so controversial," she said after officers detained the suspect. "Thank goodness she didn't play softball like I did."
The disturbance reminded people of the time former President George W. Bush dodged not one but two shoes thrown by an Iraqi journalist in 2008 at a news conference in Baghdad. Shoe-throwing is considered an insult in Arab cultures.
Brain Spellacy, U.S. Secret Service supervisory special agent in Las Vegas, announced the woman is being questioned and will face criminal charges.
