The road to true love wasn’t the easiest for Hilary Swank — who has been happier than ever since tying the knot with businessman Philip Schneider last August. As their one year wedding anniversary approaches, the Million Dollar Baby star recently opened up about her current love life and past relationships.

“I have to say — he’s great,” the 44-year-old beauty gushed to People about her handsome beau. “It took a long time to get the right guy. I kissed a lot of frogs before getting here. There’s not anything I would really change about him.” Hilary hilariously added, “You might wanna ask him the same question though!”

The Golden Globe Award-winning actress even dished some of her favorite memories from her enchanting wedding last summer. “Hmm, it’s hard to choose. Being with my dad, but also when you walk down the aisle and see your soulmate waiting for you and all your loved ones who have made the journey and effort to be there.”

The Boys Don’t Cry actress added that one of her favorite parts of the ceremony was choosing to ban cell phones. “Everyone was quiet. We didn’t have any mobile phones at the ceremony so people could really be in the moment,” she explained to the outlet. “It was just magic and very moving.”

Hilary and Philip’s wedding ceremony was extra emotional for the actress, considering she took a three-year Hollywood hiatus in 2015 to become her father’s full-time caregiver after undergoing a successful lung transplant. “After taking those three years off to look after my dad our relationship deepened,” Hilary admitted.

She sweetly continued, “I sat with him for about 20 minutes before we made our way to the redwood grove and it was emotional. I was crying my makeup off,” the Academy Award-winning star revealed. “I felt so incredibly moved that he was with us and able to experience this with me. It was a moving moment for everyone as they knew the journey he’d taken to get to this place and time.”

We are so happy for Hilary and Philip!
