It has been a difficult time for Hilaria Baldwin lately, as she recently confirmed with all that she did indeed suffer a miscarriage of what would have been her and Alec Baldwin‘s fifth child. But now as she attempts to move forward from the heartbreaking situation, she knows she has a lot to be grateful for too.

On Friday, April 12, the 35-year took to Instagram to share a message of hope. “In coping with loss or a difficult time, it is important to be present for your emotions and process, but also keep an eye on perspective and joyful moments,” the yoga instructor captioned a photo of herself alongside her son Rafael in a pool. She continued, “This photo, sent to me by a friend just now, was taken 3 years ago today. This is Rafa, I am like 5-6 months pregnant with Leonardo, and Carmen is off to the right. Peaceful, happy, full of love.” Take a look at the pic below.

In coping with loss or a difficult time, it is important to be present for your emotions and process, but also keep an eye on perspective and joyful moments. This photo, sent to me by a friend just now, was taken 3 years ago today. This is Rafa, I am like 5-6 months pregnant with Leonardo, and Carmen is off to the right. Peaceful, happy, full of love. When I get sad, I like to remind myself that sadness passes like a season. I like to look at my blessings, my happiness, and always remembering that I have so many more good times to look forward to. It is a balance of sitting with grief, as we don’t want to shove it away and not address it…but also not let it cloud how wonderful life is. If you feel cloudy and down, reach out…our communities can remind us that there is sunshine too 💛. Lastly, we have built a lovely community here…so much beautiful interaction happens in the comments…so if you need support, please reach out. I am sure an angel here will take your hand 🙏🏼

Hilaria is a mother to four children — daughter Carmen, 5, and sons Rafael, 3, Leonardo, 2, and Romeo, 10 months. She has been quite open about her miscarriage, telling fans she “will be OK.” “Emotionally I am processing it all … being able to be open with you has been extremely healing. I was very nervous to share, and am so relieved that it was received with such love,” she shared on Instagram on Friday, April 5.

She then proceeded to thank her kids, saying, “I’m grateful that I have these tiny partners to go through this with. I don’t know what I would do without my community.”

We certainly hope Hilaria continues to be strong through all of this.
