Another Halloween means another year that Heidi Klum practically breaks the internet with an epic Halloween costume. For her 19th Annual Halloween Party in NYC on Wednesday, Oct. 31, the model and her boyfriend, Tom Kaulitz, took us back to 2001 by dressing up as the hit children’s movie characters, Shrek and Fiona.
Heidi showing up in a completely over-the-top costume comes as no shock to anyone considering the 45-year-old has a history of dressing up in legendary costumes. The Project Runway star is infamous for coming up with genius ideas and creating illustrious get-ups, and this year was no different.
The couple showed up to the party in nothing other than a carriage, similar to the one you would see in Shrek, while being covered head to toe in green body paint and prosthetics. These costumes were so good, Heidi and Tom, 29, were completely unrecognizable.
The build-up to the costume began when Heidi started posting pictures and videos to Instagram, giving a step-by-step glance at the process. “Okay everyone, it’s Halloween,” she captioned the first video. “Here we go!” Heidi used a team of makeup artists and prosthetics experts to put together an extremely detailed Fiona ensemble and the outcome was seriously magical.
Fans weren’t the only ones losing their minds over the incredible costume that Heidi put together for this year. Celebrities and friends were commenting on Heidi’s Instagram and they took the words right out of our mouths. Paris Hilton commented, “No one does Halloween like you!” accompanied by the preaching hands emoji.
Halley Berry also commented on one of the posts saying “WOWOWOW” along with a green heart and sparkle emojis. Other comments ranged from “Halloween Queen!” to “Truly amazing! I can’t wait to see the final!”
It’s easy to say that Heidi and Tom completely blew us out of the water with this one, but it’s not the first time Heidi’s left us speechless with her costumes. Since 2000, her Halloween get-ups have included Cleopatra, Jessica Rabbit, a jaw-dropping butterfly, Betty Boop, the werewolf from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video, Lady Godiva, an alien transformer, and many more.
You’re probably wondering why the mom-of-four gets so into Halloween each year. Well, Heidi recently spoke with USA Today and shared the reason why she goes all out for the spooky celebrations. “You have to feel amazing in [your costume],” she admitted. We wouldn’t be surprised if Heidi’s Halloween mantra was “look good, feel good,” because it seems as she is doing exactly that!
