Halle Berry Talks Main Difference Between Raising a Boy and Girl: “The Energy!”

Last October, Halle Berry became a mother-of-two after welcoming son Maceo with husband Olivier Martinez.

But the 47-year-old admits “it’s different” raising a boy versus a girl. The biggest change? “The energy,” says Halle, who also has daughter Nahla, 6, with ex Gabriel Aubry. “Whoever says they’re not different from the start, they’ve never had both.”

The actress, who says her 5-month-old is doing “fantastic,” confesses she wasn’t planning to have a baby this late in life. “I never thought that at my stage…another baby was coming to me, so yeah, I’m blessed,” the brunette beauty says.

She also shares how becoming a mother has changed the way she approaches roles.

“Being a mom…you do start to bring different levels to your performances because being a mom is so life-changing and transforming when you have that right of passage,” Halle tells E! News. “It would be very hard for me not to bring that to every single thing that I do and I love that.”

And despite recent split rumors, the actress recently gushed about her hubby of eight months, Olivier, telling Extra, “I’m very proud of him. I think he’s delicious!”

Halle is currently promoting her new film Frankie and Alice which tells the story of a ’70s go-go dancer suffering from dissociative identity disorder. The star will also appear on the new CBS series Extant, premiering this summer.
