Late last month, Halle Berry broke one of her most important parenting rules and publicly revealed her four-year-old son's face on Instagram. And, in a new interview, the 51-year-old admitted posting the photo of her boy, Maceo Robert Martinez, was one of the hardest things she's ever done.

"That was a struggle," she recently told Extra. "I really don't like to show my kids very much… but I do realize… my people are, like, solid for me and me for them and I feel like I want to include them."

When your not so little boy takes YOU for a ride!

"It's a fine line because I don't want to exploit my children… I want to protect my children, so I thought, ‘Half the face is good,'" Halle continued. The mom-of-two decided to share the photo of Maceo during a recent family vacation in Bora Bora. "When your not so little boy takes YOU for a ride!" she captioned the cute pic.

Halle has also shied away from posting many snapshots of her 10-year-old daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry's face on social media. In 2016, a concerned fan hinted that Halle must not be proud enough of her kids to reveal their faces on Instagram, but the actress quickly set the record straight.

"I'm not at all ashamed of [my] children. I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering they are only children," she wrote at the time. "When they grow and they're of age and they want [to] share their images on the internet, that will be for them to decide, not me. Feel me? Have a beautiful day."

Halle previously welcomed Nahla with her former boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, and Maceo with her ex-husband Olivier Martinez. As a proud mom, Halle's first priority will always be to keep her kids safe no matter what, and we can't disagree with that!
