Gwyneth Paltrow Gushes That Life in Her 40s Has Given Her ‘Incredible Freedom’
At age 46, Gwyneth Paltrow has changed a lot from her younger self. She recently sat down for an interview with CNN reporter Poppy Harlow at SXSW and revealed that getting older has taught her a thing or two about happiness.
“I am no longer in my 20s and 30s, I am 46 and I love being in my 40s,” gushed the Oscar winner. “I think there is this incredible freedom that comes with a woman in her 40s and understanding that this is who I am and I’ve stopped worrying so much about what people think of me.”
Aging has also taught Gwyn how to be an even better mom to her kids, Apple Martin, 14, and Moses Martin, 12, both of whom she shares with her ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. “I have two incredible children who give me a full run for my money every day,” she joked during the panel.
Of her lifestyle brand, Goop, Gwyn said: “I have this incredible company, I love my role and I love my team. I love the challenges that come with it. I wake up every day [and] my days are very challenging but I feel like I have a lot of agency and I feel so thrilled by all of the challenges and so excited. It’s just a really fun time. Plus I married a really hot guy in September, you know.”
Everything seems to be going well in Gwyn’s life and, in a previous interview with Today’s Savannah Guthrie, she cleared up rumors about her desire to quit acting. “I’ve never said that I am quitting acting. What I say is Goop is my full-time passion and being the founder and CEO of Goop is what I do all day, every day,” she admitted. “I think I’m just not focused on full time acting right now.”
