Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Soaked Playing A Game On ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ — Watch!
Hopefully, Gwyneth Paltrow brought an extra pair of clothes when she guest-starred on Wednesday, Jan. 9’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During one of the segments, the two played a singing game called “Slay It, Don’t Spray It,” where each participant had to finish the lyrics of a popular song. And if they didn’t, they got sprayed by a water-shooting microphone.
After finding out the premise of the game, the 46-year-old actress looked mortified as she held her face with her hands while Jimmy clapped and laughed along. “I can’t sing!” Gwyn yelled. It didn’t seem like Jimmy, 44, was too concerned considering he warned her that he’s “really competitive” and loves music. Take a look at the hilarious segment below!
The two put on glasses to shield the water from their eyes — “because safety is sexy,” Jimmy said — and the games began. Gwyn was up first as she was given Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left To Cry” to sing. However, it didn’t take long before the blonde beauty had water shot at her face after she messed up some of the lyrics in the chorus.
“Oh my goodness, that was intense. Who’s controlling the water? That was intense!” Jimmy shouted as he laughed hysterically at his adversary’s reaction. Following the Goop owner, it was Jimmy’s turn to sing “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” by Shawn Mendes. Funny enough, Jimmy didn’t even last as long as Gwyn did and joined her by getting a face full of water. Ha!
As the game went on, the two sang songs such as Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle,” The Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight,” and OutKast’s “Hey Ya.” Despite their best efforts at perfecting the lyrics, neither Gwyn or Jimmy walked away without getting spritzed with water a few times.
Even though it was only a harmless and fun game, Gwyn wouldn’t be surprised if her performance embarrassed her 14-year-old daughter, Apple Martin. “I mortify her. if I do anything silly in public, the blood drains from her face,” she admitted to Jimmy. “We walked into a store the other day and there was a really great song playing. I forget what it was, but she looked at me and she was like, ‘Do not even think about it! Do not, Mom!'”
Either way, we hope Gwyn and Jimmy had fun. But by the looks of their reactions, the game the two played together seemed to be priceless!
