In just a few short weeks Grey's Anatomy fans will be able to tune in to the Season 15 premiere. With every new season of the hit medical drama comes a plethora of plotlines: death, career changes, and our personal favorite, a love triangle.
During a new interview, Kim Raver, who plays Dr. Teddy Altman on the show, opened up about the newest love triangle on the series: the one between her, Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), and Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone).
"I think everyone saw the finale and knows that Teddy's pregnant," Kim told E! News at ABC's summer TV Critics' Association party. "That leads to a really kind of amazing, complicated, funny storyline."
During the end of Season 14, Owen was beginning to reconcile with his ex-wife Amelia after he became a foster parent to a baby boy (and eventually his addict teenage mother as well). However, he has no clue that his ex-flame and "best friend" is actually back in Seattle and pregnant with his baby after he visited her in Germany weeks prior.
"Shonda always surprises us," Kevin added of the show's writer. "Shonda always makes you think it's going to be a love triangle, and then turns it into something else. So at the moment, I assume it probably will be, because Owen has...very different history with both of these women. He doesn't know this news that's coming, and it's really fun to see how much pressure that creates for Owen's life."
Kelly McCreary, who plays Dr. Maggie Pierce, also opened up about how she always "finds herself in the middle" of these Grey's love triangles (let's not forget about hers with Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and Dr. April Kepner (Sarah Drew) last season). "You know how Maggie feels about secrets, and now she's going to be in the middle of all that, so it's going to be hard," she shared. We can't wait for Thursday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. on ABC!
