It's a beautiful day to save lives! Grey's Anatomy fans have a new reason to celebrate because ABC has already ordered two additional episodes of the hit medical drama. This means that fans will have a grand total of 24 episodes for Season 14. This news comes right before the series' much-anticipated 300th episode which is said to be dedicated to the viewers.

“I have written it as a love letter to the fans who have been watching all 14 years," co-showrunner Krista Vernoff told TV Line. “If there is a feel to the episode, it is nostalgia. And if there is a theme of the episode, it is the ghosts of our past. So I have found a way to pay some small tribute to everyone who has been here before."

Honestly, we've lost a lot of beloved characters during the fourteen seasons the show has been on the air. So, this episode could mean flashbacks of old patients, previous doctors, and possibly old scenes from the show. We're sure the landmark episode and all the other episodes that follow will be great especially since the show is trying to return to its lighthearted rom-com roots. Krista was an executive producer in the earlier seasons — she even wrote the heartbreaking train crash episode! — before she left to pursue other opportunities. Now, she's back and wants to infuse comedy back into Grey's.

"I'm not interested in writing darkness. I feel like the world has gone dark enough," she revealed to The Hollywood Reporter. "I feel like we who are part of the resistance right now need some relief in our entertainment. I feel like it's part of my personal activism to help people sit down and laugh at night so they can get back up in the morning and fight the good fight." We can't wait to watch!
